- Defined workload: you can be available for a maximum of 45 hours a week or ten hours a day;
- Flexibility: You negotiate with the host family when you will be at their disposal and when you can take advantage of your time off. Thus, when negotiating in advance, it is good for both parties and everything usually works out in the best way;
- You are guaranteed one and a half days off per week, plus at least one weekend per month;
- The Au Pair has a minimum period of one year, and during this period you will be entitled to two months of paid vacation;
- If the host family decides to go on vacation, you can travel together, as paid or unpaid vacations – this must be established in the contract;
- In addition to the stay with the host family, working in the USA as an Au Pair guarantees a minimum allowance of around 200 dollars per week;
- To top it off, the program provides that the host family guarantees the Au Pair’s training in secondary school, paying up to 500 dollars for the course. Thus, it is possible to study English or even extra subjects, such as history or politics.
3. Warehouse/Office Assistant
The United States has been facing a labor shortage for a long time, and the pandemic has increased this considerably. Add to that the fact that the country had its borders closed for more than a year, which made certain vacancies that were normally occupied by foreigners remain open.
