1. Write a journal
Writing a journal is a great way to work through emotions and overcome boredom. Journaling, which is the act of writing a journal, helps you sort through your feelings and clear your head of ruminative thoughts.
You can write about your feelings, experiences, setbacks, achievements, a gratitude list, conversations with someone you love, reasons why you are feeling bored, and so on. Writing these experiences on paper is a tested way to vent intense feelings and make you feel happier and less bored.
2. Promote your business on social media
Social media is usually one place most people run to when they are feeling bored. You can kill boredom at home by conversing on social media and also get productive with it.
When you are bored, visit social media with the goal of promoting yourself, your business, or your brand in mind. It is not enough to simply chat with with random strangers with no goal in mind, when in fact, social media is a place where you can get free and quality traffic to your business.

Boredom makes you feel tired and uninterested in anything but there are things you can still do to find satisfaction. Organizing your room is one of them.
Your room may be disorganised, your closet may be unkempt, or your clothes may be littering the floor. You can effectively turn your boredom into a productive activity by deciding to organize your room.
Organizing your room when you are bored can give you a real feeling of accomplishment and reduce your feeling of boredom. If you are living in a small room, this is an opportunity to creatively organize your room to create more space.

Thankfully, there are numerous resources on the internet available for you to learn new skills.
5. Do some squats

- Get adequate rest between any activity at home. This helps you replenish your energy and prevents you from getting easily bored.
- Don’t be too selective in your interactions with people: There might be a lot of people around but because you are strict on your cliche, you lapse into boredom because you cannot interact with those who are not “your class”.
- Avoid spending too much time on social media: Spending too much time on social media not only makes you dependent on it for your daily happiness but can make it become boring due to over-activity. It is natural to lose interest in something you do too often without taking a break.
- Segment and diversify your activities: Similar to avoiding too much social media, not being stereotypic in your daily activities can add a flavour of variety to your daily experience, thus, preventing you from getting easily bored.
- Make new friends: Even if you are introverted or you have very few friends, you can learn to make new friends both offline and online. They don’t necessarily have to be inner-cycle friends but you can talk with them to let off some steam and overcome boredom sometime.

If not properly tackled, boredom can lead to dangerous behaviours like addictions to alcohol, smoking, sex, and other similar activities. Thus, more needs to be done when simple productive interventions discussed above do not help you kill your boredom at home.
If the tips on how to avoid and overcome boredom at home do not seem effective, reach out to someone. Talk to a friend. This time, it’s not about being productive anymore. It’s about getting out of boredom to a normal mood.
