A survey done by RedBook Magazine sampled 400 married women to find out if there is a strong relationship between their husbands’ professions and their lovemaking patterns. So far, this was the most comprehensive study I have found about this topic.

But before I talk about this study, let’s see what Amanda Goff has to share concerning her experience with men from different professions.

Goff rated the following professions as the top 5 professions with the greatest sexual performance.

Lawyers
Accountants
Doctors
Policemen
Academicians

Goff says lawyers are “naughty and unforgettable bad boys with the gif of the gab and are all for pushing boundaries”.

About accountants, she says “They are open-minded, kind, and can calculate your needs in a measured yet sexy way”.

Goff also praised doctors saying “They know what to do and when to do it”.

Concerning the policemen, she says “While they will lay down the law, they will also lay you down”. She further added, “If you like being dominated, the cop is your lover”.

Lastly, she made an interesting remark about academicians saying “Yes, when their brains are turned turned on, they will turn you on!”

However, Goff specifically warned against real estate agents saying that they will waste your time in and out of the bedroom. Lol.

Goff’s insight on the best men ranked by profession was not so different from what the survey carried out by RedBook as follows.

Below is a list of the best men in men ranked roughly based on the results of the survey.

1. Artists

While they are good at highlighting the tones and shadows of life and still-life objects, artists are also some of the best men in bed. Below are the results of the survey.

Their wives claim they’re the best lovers (45% – first place among all the professions – rate their sex life as “excellent”).
100% engage in foreplay (though 13% of their wives say it “seems like an eternity”).
73% fully satisfy their wives.

2. Suits (Lawyers, Accountants, Consultants, Communications and Financial Professionals)

Though lawyers, accountants, and the other professionals in this list might seem to be always very serious with their jobs, they can also be very serious with their job on the bed too. Here are the ratings for this category.

Most likely to want sex every day (42% want it; 10% have it).
Most likely to try a new location (46%).
Great at foreplay: 92% of wives say it lasts just long enough. Second most likely to take no for an answer (78%).
Yet only 56% of wives rate sex as “excellent” or “very good.”

3. Mechanics & Truck Drivers

Being very good at handling tools and heavy machines, mechanics and truck drivers are also very good at handling the right tools to please a woman in bed.

First place in oral sex (61% of their wives rate them “the best of the best”).
95% engage in foreplay.
39% have “excellent” sex lives.
47% have sex more than twice a week (above-average frequency).
They’re the most likely to introduce edible underwear (26%).
But more than a third fall asleep right after sex (three times the average).

4. Managers & Supervisors

Managers and supervisors are among the best men in bed ranked by profession. When they appear to be strict and unfriendly at work, it’s probably because they are not cuddling with their wife in bed.

38% of their wives rate sex “excellent,” which puts them in fourth place overall.
They’re the cuddliest profession (45% are constant cuddlers).
74% are either good or “the best of the best” at oral sex.
But if he’s in the mood and she’s not, he’s the least likely to take no for an answer (29%, compared to the average 57%) and among the most likely to negotiate.

Most likely to introduce new positions or sex toys (46%; the average for all husbands is 28%).
Six times as likely as the average husband to introduce whips, ropes, or handcuffs (18%).
100% of their wives say they’re in sync regarding how long sex lasts.
Yet 30% say they wish he’d spend more time on foreplay.

7. Construction Workers & Contractors

How else can they relieve themselves of the stress of work than venting off the remaining energy to visit cloud nine with their wife? Below are their stats.

58% have sex more than twice a week (high frequency).
30% of their wives would like them to be more tender.
They’re the least likely to give oral sex (40% don’t).
But their wives say they’re cuddly when they’re in the mood (66%, which is way above average).

8. Teachers & Government Workers

The stats are mindblowing, probably better than what you previously imagined.

Among the least likely to take no for an answer if she’s not in the mood (43%).
That might explain why they are the second most likely to have sex every day (13%).
100% do foreplay.
Yet their wives are among the most likely to think sex is over too quickly (30%).

9. Factory Workers

They know well how to mine the honey pit to bring out one of the best sexual experiences.

59% of their wives say sex could be better, with 20% rating their sex life “poor.”
Yet in each specific area, they rate about average.
They’re among the most adventurous (28% of their wives say this is the sexiest thing about him).
They’re also among the most likely to experiment with new positions or sex toys (36%)

10. Doctors & Health Care Workers

I guess the wives expected too much. There is something about expectation that makes even a great performance seem like it’s less. I won’t say more than this.

They are very cuddly and romantic (44% are constant cuddlers).
Good at giving oral sex (55% of their wives call them “the best of the best”).
Yet lousy at foreplay (34% of their wives say it never lasts long enough, which puts them in last place).
36% of their wives say it’s over too fast (and 14% say, “He could be a Viagra candidate”).

11. Men in Uniform (Firefighters, Police Officers, Deliverymen)

They sure know how to fight for what they are passionate about.

81% of their wives say the sexiest thing about him is that he makes sure she’s fully satisfied (almost twice the average).
84% say their sex lives are excellent or very good (also way above average).
Yet 25% — more than twice the average — skip foreplay

12. Salesmen

Though ranking low on this list, they have their way of making it up.

Most likely to have sex every day (14%).
More than three times as likely as the average husband to try fantasy role-playing (20%).
If she’s not in the mood for sex, he’s among the most likely to take no for an answer without further negotiation (74%, compared to the average of 57%).
But it turns out she wants more, not less: 25% say sex is over too quickly.

13. Computer Specialists & Technicians

They made the list of the top thirteen. Many other professions didn’t even make the list. Below are their stats

From the rankings of the sexual performance of men by different professions above, we see that a man’s profession can affect his sexual performance with his wife. But this is not likely to be a universal rule.

There will be some men in the low-ranking groups with very high sexual performance across all domains of sexual satisfaction to their woman. And there will be men in the high-ranking groups with low performance. Suffice it to say that other factors can affect a man’s sexual performance in bed.

Other Factors Affecting a Man’s Sexual Performance

Other factors affecting a man’s performance in bed include the following:

Age

Aging can bring about changes in hormone levels and physical health, which may affect sexual function. Sexual performance and libido are not the same across men of all age groups, and this change, alongside psychological factors related to aging such as body image concerns, can also play an important role in sexual performance.

State of mind

If a man’s mind is troubled by anything, it will be more difficult to concentrate on making quality love with his wife. Financial troubles, and problems at work, or home are some of the things that can alter the state of a man’s mind.

Relationship dynamics

This includes communication issues, relationship stress, disputes, and emotional connection. A change in any of these can affect the quality of sexual performance a man shows his wife, irrespective of his profession.

Stress

Stress is linked with poor sexual performance, weak erections, and reduced libido. This can affect a man’s sexual performance irrespective of the professional group he belongs.

Lifestyle choices

Alcoholism, smoking, and lack of exercise can contribute to vascular problems affecting sexual performance in a man irrespective of his profession. Quitting smoking and heavy drinking may help boost sexual performance, same with regular and adequate physical exercise.

A balanced and nutritious diet may contribute to the overall health of a man including his sexual health. Nutrient deficiencies may impact energy levels and hormone production, reducing a man’s sexual performance irrespective of his profession.

Others

These include genetics, self-esteem, body image, and a man’s quality of sleep.

How to Optimize Performance Irrespective of Profession

Optimizing sexual performance as a man requires you to consider the above factors and work on them. There is nothing much you can do about your profession as regards.

You cannot change into an artist just because they rank highest on the list above. But there are factors (discussed) you can easily modify to boost your sexual performance near 100%.

Should a Woman Consider Profession in The Choice of a Partner?

This depends on her specific preferences and specs, not necessarily based on their relative sexual performance. It is worth noting that choosing a life partner is often not based on how well they can perform in bed.
